Dear Mom, I don't have a lot of time today so I will try to be quick and get a lot in. You will need to ask questions next week because I will forget stuff.
Your guys' week sounds fun! wish I could have been on the mountain. And I don't think I got an email from Tate this week so I still need Meet details. Welcome Brian home for me. I can't believe it has been two years. We did mention general conference last time we were there. (At an investigatorsI had asked about) The only concern with that would be that he loves to hunt and the first weekend of October is the first weekend of deer hunting. But hopefully they will be able to watch one of the sessions. They said that they are still reading in the book of Mormon. They are also reading a bible book that their preacher gave them called the story. I guess it is a version of the bible that reads more like a story book.
Gordon is still doing good. He just passed his interview Friday and his baptism is this Saturday. And I will be confirming him Sunday. My first Confirmation!!! Crazy! I'm excited.
Kenny the one with the father that passed away with cancer is doing better every day. Same as the other family but the other family is moving a little slower which is understandable from the situation. I think both cases they need to just go back to daily basics. Pray and Read the Book of Mormon.
The other set of missionaries are sisters and we cover a huge area! But not hugely populated. It is probably 2500 square miles. 50 across 50 up and down. Approximately.
The Ipod did charge and is working. If you sent mp3 files I would get a flash drive and use it for music in the usb port in the car and Mormon messages at investigators and members. If you do send music. I can have anything that is uplifting and doesn't have a swear word and preferably has a gospel connection but instrumental stuff like lord of the rings I wouldn't complain about either. Oh and it has to be legal. No ripping stuff from Youtube. :(
I will get a new companion Wednesday. His name is Elder Fullerton and I have heard he is cool and Super Funny.
It's been pretty cool in the mornings but still kinda warm during the day and in the evenings. I will take a picture of the trees for you when they start to change.
So this past week we mostly did our rounds so Elder Brown could say good bye. The exciting thing was the Rabbit we killed and ate Thursday. I have pictures for you but you may not want to look if you don't like the whole Butchering thing. Kinda goes along with the lambs. ;) It was at a member’s house and he raises rabbits so he let us come help/ watch him butcher it.
The only new news with our investigators is what I already shared above. Gordon I think was the most exciting thing investigator wise this last week. We also had stake conference which Gordon came to! The main topics were Sabbath day, Family history, and personal study of the book of Mormon Daily. It was really good and really spiritual. I love this gospel. The more I learn the more I want to share it with every one!
Well that's all for now. I love you and am grateful for the support and weekly emails. They are the highlight of my week. Love Elder Aaron King
