Dear Mom, Last week was an All of the above. But It was still a great week and I would do it again in a heart beat. That's crazy Shannon was only a state away! He didn't even come say hi. ;) haha that's fun you guys get to hang out with Kinzie. I miss doing that. We had some good times last summer watching avengers. :) I will definitly check out the video. Thanks! We got drizzled on not really any dumping. I guess there is a tropical storm somewhere off the coast so we are getting winds and little showers from it blowing in. I really enjoyed it though. Tracting with a mist and a breeze beats the hot stagnant humidity any day. Marlee and Kyle sound like they will be pretty busy these next few weeks. I hope the moving and work all goes well. And Tate didn't use the parka for morning practices? I always loved it for the mornings. It was like wrapping up in your comforter to go to swim. And the weather for now is still nice. If it starts to get cold quick I will let you know and there is a coat left here from another missionary so I may just use that until we find something. I don't really see the need for the heat blanket or rain poncho. I have that rain coat and a normal blanket I could grab so I probably won't get one. If you want to send them you can. I used like 20 dollars from my personal account but I am doing fine on money. I am a master budget-er! ;) We get 145 dollars a month and with the meals the members feed us that is more than enough. A gps would be a sweet christmas present. I think we will be able to manage in Gloucester without one but if I get transfered to a new area and my new comp doesn't have one then I may need it before Christmas. So the Teewee's are a little block box is the car that monitor your driving and give you reminders to drive well. They also report any speeding or accelerating or braking or hitting a bump too hard or turning a corner to sharp violations to the mission president. So those have been an interesting experience so far. I personally don't think their that bad but for some of the missionaries it was the end of their relaxed driving. Everyone seems to be stressing about them.
Yea so he's been investigating since I have been here. His mom is supportive and I think his dad may have passed away. We have set him with a date before but he wasn't keeping his commitment to come to church so we had to push it back and so we set him with this new date and he came to church last week but then missed yesterday so we aren't really all that sure. I think he is ready to be baptized if he had the support to make it to church each week but he has a hard time staying focused and there's no reminders or encouragement at home. So we are still praying to know what to do.
I am so excited for conference this weekend!!! That's great the women's conference was good. I may have to check out some of the talks. Listening to the Prophet and apostles voices is just so relaxing! I could probably do it all day! which I kinda will this Saturday with the three sessions and then In the morning we just have our studies! I am also excited to hear who the new three apostles will be. Has that ever happened before? three new apostles in one conference? You guys do sound busy this week! Tate is finally going to get his eagle! well it's about time;) haha. I hope that all goes well. Wish I could be there to help. That was a great experience for me, doing my eagle project.
We didn't even know the pope was coming and then as we were knocking doors everyone kept asking us about it. I am grateful for for prophets and the priesthood and all of the great blessings our church has as well. This past week not a lot happened. We met with a few investigators but not much progressing and did some more service helping a family clean up their farm for an inspection. This next week we are in charge of the mutual activity though and so we are doing like a mini MTC thing to help the youth feel comfortable answering questions when they come up. I think it will go pretty well. Well that's all I have for now. I wish you the best this next week and love you lots! And remember with conference to go in with a Question. It is a great opportunity to receive revelation. I can promise you your question will be answered in one of the sessions. So watch all of them! ;) Love you! Love Elder Bear
Well I have a little extra time since no one else emailed me today so you get a little bit more. ;) Today, tomorrow and wed they are repairing our house from the flood damage like my first week out here. So we will be staying with some members for the next couple nights. Oh I was also sick this past Wed. I started getting a really bad migraine and that made me noxious so That was no fun but a blessing, some Tylenol, a large cup of water and a little nap did the trick and I'm back to work. :) We also haven't been able to see Kris and Christina for a week and a half now since transfers were one wed and I got sick this last Wed. So hopefully we will be able to make it by today since this wed is the mutual activity and we won't see them then. I hope they will be able to watch Conference this weekend. I think that would help them a lot. Also did you tell everyone I was at 100 days? I got like 4 little letters with candy and cards saying congrats. which was a good treat but totally unexpected. Well I think we are going to go now. I love you and can't wait to hear from you next week. Love Elder King
